    In The Ages To Come...

    Ephesians 2:1-10 (AMP)
AND YOU [He made alive], when you were dead (slain) by [your] trespasses and sins
2 In which at one time you walked [habitually]. You were following the course and fashion of this world [were under the sway of the tendency of this present age], following the prince of the power of the air. [You were obedient to and under the control of] the [demon] spirit that still constantly works in the sons of disobedience [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God].
3 Among these we as well as you once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by our corrupt and sensual nature], obeying the impulses of the flesh and the thoughts of the mind [our cravings dictated by our senses and our dark imaginings]. We were then by nature children of [God’s] wrath and heirs of [His] indignation, like the rest of mankind.
4 But God—so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us,
5 Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation).
6 And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
7 He did this that He might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable (limitless, surpassing) riches of His free grace (His unlimited power) in [His] kindness and goodness of heart toward us in Christ Jesus.
    8 For it is by free grace (God’s unlimited power) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God;
9 Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law’s demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.]
10 For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].
“He did this that He might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable (limitless, surpassing) riches of His free grace (His unlimited power) in [His] kindness and goodness of heart toward us in Christ Jesus.”

What an incredible statement! This is beyond imagining! This whole passage of scripture, verses 1 through 10 is enough to feed me far beyond the next year or even the rest of my life. Even trying to dwell on these words, meditating, searching out the deeper meanings, trying to understand the entire scope of what the Spirit of God is saying here, is simply beyond the capacity of any human being to conceive.

He says that in the ages to come He will reveal to us the limitless riches of His limitless power (grace) of His limitless love He has shown us in His Son, Jesus Christ! Unimaginable! The greatest minds that ever lived could not fathom the depth of this message! It is IMPOSSIBLE for us to even conceive of the kind of limitless power it took to create the universe by simply speaking it into existence much less the enormous computational capacity to create a code so sophisticated, so complex and so minute as to be stored and implemented in something as microscopic as a strand of DNA to create something as marvelous as a human being. Man and his technologies could live for thousands of years and still not be able duplicate such a feat and all from the dust of the earth, which was created by His spoken Word!

This Almighty God, who has no beginning and no ending, that exists outside of that measurement we call time, who lives in an expanse incomprehensible to mortal man, chooses to create a creature after the image of who He is and to breathe His very life into this creature of earth and gave us this marvelous gift, the ability to choose for ourselves who we will love and who we will not love, taking such an immense risk that we may reject Him, but gave us this life anyway? This is love personified! Beyond our capacity to understand or appreciate. He even knew BEFORE He created us that we would rebel and yet He planned to redeem us back to Himself and set His great plan in motion anyway!

Our puny minds simply do not have the capacity to see or understand such love. It is for this reason that He has planned for each of us who believe in His Son Jesus Christ, to spend the next ages in eternity to reveal all He has done. For it will take ages immeasurable to understand, even with resurrected glorified bodies and minds to even grasp the significance of the immensity of His limitless love and power. Even today, the angels who fix their gaze upon this great and powerful God cry Holy, Holy, Holy day and night without end as they too are seeing and receiving understanding as to who this Mighty God they serve IS. With each revelation, they cry HOLY! Who would NOT want to stand where they stand and look into the face of such a One as He?

When Moses, the only mortal man to ever speak face to face with God, wanted to see His glory, God let him but had to hide Moses' eyes until most of His glory passed him by. Why? Because even Moses, as great a mortal man as he was, could not see the face of God and live. Just the very appearance of God's face would have been so overwhelming, Moses' mind and body would have been overexposed to such power and glory that he would perish. The only part of Himself He let Moses see was His hinder parts. This, what Moses saw of God's glory, was more than enough to satisfy any man, was all that God had done prior to the time that Moses had lived. It was Moses who witnessed the creation of all things. It was Moses who was eyewitness to those events leading up to the creation of man. It was Moses who heard those words, "Let US make man in Our Image, according to Our likeness...
    Genesis 1:26-27 (NKJV)
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
And in the seeing all this grandeur, it was Moses who put into writing the first five books of this testimony we call the Word of God, the Bible. Unimaginable grace! It is no wonder that the more Moses spent time in God's presence that his own appearance began to noticeably change more and more into that same glory that belongs to God alone.
    Exodus 34:29-35 (NKJV)
    The Shining Face of Moses
29 Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses’ hand when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him. 30 So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him. 31 Then Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him; and Moses talked with them. 32 Afterward all the children of Israel came near, and he gave them as commandments all that the Lord had spoken with him on Mount Sinai. 33 And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on his face. 34 But whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with Him, he would take the veil off until he came out; and he would come out and speak to the children of Israel whatever he had been commanded. 35 And whenever the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone, then Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with Him.
Has anyone since Moses have that same experience where their face had to be hidden behind a veil because of the brightness of the glory of God? There was only one other time something similar to this took place and that was while Jesus stood on what men call the Mount of Transfiguration.
    Matthew 17:1-6 (NKJV)
1 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; 2 and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. 3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. 4 Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles:one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid.
It was after this experience that Jesus instructed them to not tell of this until after He had been raised from the dead. Who else would have believed this anyway. For the religious leaders of the day had difficulty enough accepting the truth that someone greater than Moses was here much less than be told that Jesus was seen talking with Moses and Elijah on that mountain. They would have killed Him before His time.

Brethren, is it no wonder at all that God is teaching us through His Holy Spirit of His wonderful truth so that we may be changed more and more into the likeness of His beloved Son? It is for this very purpose Jesus left behind that incredible joy of heaven to sacrifice Himself so that we too would be able to share in His goodness and mercies for all eternity! He promises us that while we too will gaze into the face of Jesus, we will become more like what we see.
    1 John 3:1-3 (NKJV)
1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
Do you realize the magnitude of what He is offering? He is welcoming us as He did Moses, to spend time in His glorious presence so that we too may partake of that which had been denied for thousands of years to His own people, who continued to reject Him in the same manner as they did at that mountain when He spoke to them all. Then, they closed their hearts to His word for they saw the evil in their own hearts but refused to repent. For those of us who have had the selfishness of our hearts exposed and repented, been born again, are now privileged like no other people on earth, to gaze into the face of their God and live! Although today we see through a glass darkly, greatly tinted so as not to blind us with the greatness of His glory, we are promised that soon, we will see as we are seen and know as we are known! What honor! What glory! What a privilege and destiny He has offered to those who believe. What greater joy can we experience in this life than to be able to stand in the presence of Almighty God and have the chance to live and be that true reflection of who He IS!

Imagine what we will see once we are with Him in heaven. Try to imagine watching Him as He spoke the worlds into existence. Consider this, if God lives in a place of timelessness, then what we will see when the universe is created will be REAL TIME! When He said, "Let there be Light!", we will be there to witness it! We will hear for ourselves and see for ourselves what Moses saw when His saw God's hinder parts and even more than what Moses saw for we will be in our glorified bodies! We will see how His plan was created and how it unfolded....right before us. We will witness first hand how God worked throughout our generations, touching each heart of all those who played an integral part in our lives that brought us to that saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We will witness for ourselves how our own lives were used in touching the lives of so many others. Do you realize the scope of what I am telling you!?! That which has been hidden to us while in our mortal bodies will now become fully known to us and we shall see this for ourselves! UNIMAGINABLE! What GLORY! Beyond what we can conceive or even imagine! We will see that working of His mighty power we call grace when we chose to believe Him instead of ourselves. We will see and understand each moment and their consequences. And each time we see these truths unfold before our eyes, we too will stand in awe and cry out HOLY, HOLY, HOLY IS THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY! How does one find expression for that which is beyond expression? How can mere words describe what is indescribable?

Consider this for just a moment...Atomic scientists have been able to pierce the darkness surrounding not only the atom at the atomic level of perception but they have discovered a world even smaller than that at the sub-atomic level. This world is even more vast and incomprehensible than the cosmos we see beyond the earth's atmosphere, well beyond what our strongest telescopes can see. And what is even more inconceivable is that everything from that sub-atomic world to the world we are able to witness far out into the limitless regions of space, is all held together by the word of His power!
    Hebrews 1:1-3 (NKJV)
    God's Supreme Revelation
1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high...
Brethren, with so great a salvation, should we not lay aside every weight and every sin that so easily beset us? Should we not devote as much of our time on the fruitful works of faith in seeking Him and the power of His resurrection and leave behind us the cares and concerns of this world? Shouldn't we let the dead bury the dead? Shouldn't we choose to turn away from the temporal pleasures of this world and set our sights on the one that is to come? Jesus said that when He is lifted up, He will draw all men to Himself. Jesus has reached the very pinnacle of what a man can reach by sitting at the right hand of the Father. He offers to us all to sit with Him where He is. We, who are poor, blind and naked have been called upon to arise from our squaller and join Him in the courts of the King where we will no longer live as slaves to our passions but live as sons and daughters of the King of kings and Lord of lords! It is fitting as sons and friends of the bridegroom and yes, as His bride, that we begin our marriage preparations today and spend our allotted time being drenched head to toe with the spices and anointing oils of His grace and mercies. For it is fitting that His bride approach Him with the very smells of the fragrances of heaven and be adorned with all the gold, silver and precious stones that will never perish but shine forever and ever to display His glory in our lives! For we are all called and set aside for His glory and splendor! Should not we dedicate and commit the whole of our lives to be fashioned by His Holy Spirit as He prepares us for this, the greatest event of all time...The Marriage Supper of the Lamb?

Once we are there, all the difficulty we've had to endure, all the suffering will seem as nothing when we see and experience the joy He has stored up for us in His presence. Then we shall begin our new journey into the timelessness of His realm as He begins to reveal to us all, His matchless and unlimited grace and power and kindness and mercies and love He has shown to us throughout our lives!
