    The Curse is Lifted!

    The Curse is Lifted!

    Psalms 78:8 (ESV)
and that they should not be like their fathers,
    a stubborn and rebellious generation,
a generation whose heart was not steadfast,
whose spirit was not faithful to God.
"And that they should not be like their fathers..."
A sad refrain indeed. Something that should be is not. It is and has been since time immemorial that as the fathers live, so shall their children. However, also since time immemorial, the fathers have failed to set the example of how their children should live in righteousness. From generation to generation, the failure of fathers to walk in righteousness have doomed their children to exacerbate their own failures.

As each generation rises, it has been a unique struggle to live their lives better than the one before in the hopes of breaking through this seeming endless cycle of self destruction. With the weight of sin and rebellion of all the previous generations bearing down on them, this struggle has become a near impossible likelihood of ever finding that light at the end of this very long and dark tunnel. However, the light does exist, albeit a very dim light. The heritage of previous generations, with all their judgments affecting each successive generation's view of life causes such a distortion as to make the pursuit of righteousness a virtual impossibility.

Enter the only possible solution in the form of a small child born in a feeding trough among the animals of the field to an insignificant family, yet one with royalty in their veins. This small child was destined to a greatness never known by any man for this child was born without the weight of all previous generations' sins destined to distort His view and understanding of life. This child was born not of a man but of that Holy Spirit of the God of all creation for the express purpose of delivering to those who have only known darkness, that light of hope and promise from an Eternal God who loves them and wants to redeem man from the very pits of hell in which all were destined to find their end.

This One in whom all of the hope of humanity rested, was destined to live a perfect life, a life without sin, a life being led by the same Father who birthed Him into this world. He was to set for all time, an example of how it is possible to live a life without spot, without wrinkle, pleasing to God. He was to introduce into this world of death and sorrow, a chance no one considered even possible. A chance at redemption. A chance of living our lives in the light of truth without being encumbered about by that weight of sin we carried from our fathers and our father's fathers.

Although His life was cut short, it was not by chance nor by the acts of evil men only but by design. For it was God's design since the foundation of the world to raise this Holy Seed who would crush the authority of the evil one and redeem the children of God back to the Father. To do this, the penalty of death had to be satisfied and so upon this perfect Lamb, was laid all the sins of mankind throughout every generation. He who knew no sin would have our sin laid upon Him and in this way, be offered up as that sacrificial lamb for the sin of man to satisfy God's demand for justice.

Jesus, the son of David, the prophesied Messiah, came to this world to offer Himself up to take our place and in doing this, suffered like no man has ever suffered, being innocent in Himself but willing chose to accept our punishment and by His choice, allowed evil men to take Him and torture Him and crucify Him in the cruelest punishment ever devised by men. So resolute was He that He would accept no relief, no way out, no deliverance for Himself, even though He had command of every angel in the heavens to come to His aid should He request it. He came for this purpose and has bound Himself to fulfill that purpose.

For that joy of seeing the redemption of mankind back to the Father as a result of His ultimate sacrifice was sufficient to carry Him through the horrors of torture and death. He became a curse, cursed is anyone who hangs on a tree, so that we can be saved. Like the sacrificial lamb used to deliver the children of Israel from their bondages in Egypt, all those who put their trust in the blood of this Lamb, would not be delivered from the bondage of sin only but also gain entrance into that everlasting kingdom of His Father in heaven forever!

God fulfilled, in Jesus Christ, the son of David, what He had promised since Adam and Eve fell into sin in the garden. He would put enmity between the serpent and man where the serpent would bruise His heel and He, this promised Seed, would crush his head. Jesus, once and for all time, has given back to mankind that which has been lost and because He willingly gave His life, He was given a name above every name so that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow and confess that He is Lord of All.

This long and agonizing litany and legacy of death and destruction of lives lost because of sin has finally found its end, its light at the end of this very long tunnel. Jesus is that Light and that Hope for all generations, IF we choose to believe in that cross that is lifted up as that serpent was lifted up in the Old Testament for those bitten by the snakes. All who look upon this cross of Christ shall be delivered of the bite of that serpent of old and shall live and not have to die because of their own sins. Jesus is lifted up and all who draw near to Him shall not die but have eternal life and eat that manna which has come down from heaven. Jesus Christ is that Manna from heaven and all who eat of THIS Manna shall never hunger and never die.

The PROMISE of God has been fulfilled. Will YOU look upon the cross of Christ and believe in Him? Will YOU allow Jesus to become the LORD of your life and have that chance to discover what being a true son of God is like? To all those who want to know this truth, The Spirit of God and the Bride say, "COME!" All who come to Him, He will in no wise turn aside. Come to Jesus and find an end to your sufferings as He will wipe away every tear and comfort every heart. Come to Jesus, believe and trust in Him and you SHALL inherit eternal life and live with Him in His Father's kingdom forever and ever!
