    Thought For The Day

    Romans 10:12-13
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (ESV)
There are those today who wish to make a distinction between the Jewish believers and all other believers. This distinction, they say, is based upon scripture. Their argument consists of calling the Jewish believers "the elect" of God while leaving out those not of Jewish descent.

The fallacy of this, in light of the scripture above, becomes obvious. We are all come to one man through Jesus Christ, with no physical lineage distinction. The first Adam was not distinguished as being a Jew. The second Adam, although born of the Jews in order to fulfill scripture, restores mankind back to the original man but one that has overcome through faith, the sinful nature of fallen man.

In the spirit, there is no distinction between Jew and Greek nor is there distinction between male or female. We are a new creature according to Christ, the firstborn of many brethren. Those today who insist on the importance of a physical Jewish lineage as being something of great importance, have strayed from the faith and are teaching as truth, fables of men.

God has ALWAYS required of men to walk according to faith in Him. For without faith, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please Him. It is not the color of your skin. It is not who your natural father was. The cross of Christ has, once and for all time, removed that ordinance of law of dead works according to outward appearances and has established that new covenant He promised according to the heart. Circumcision of the heart is the new covenant where He writes His law on the fleshly tables of the heart.

Romans 11 states that we were engrafted into the cultured olive tree being uncultured. Because of unbelief they were removed but we are added because of faith provided we continue in faith, otherwise, we too would be cut off. Faith and the continuance of walking in faith is the key to being a fruitful part of this olive tree just as Jesus said in John 15. Every unfruitful branch that does not produce fruit will be removed and cast into the fire. Every branch in Him that produces fruit, will be pruned by the Father so that more fruit will be produced.

There is no language in these words of Jesus that distinguishes one race above another. His language is a language of faith and the working of faith in and through those who trust in Him. Nothing more.
