    Daniel 9:25-26 Re-Visited

    I would like to re-visit a previous study on the 70 weeks of Daniel by comparing two verses in the NKJV and the Complete Jewish Bible. You will notice something very interesting that I will point out to you.

    Daniel 9:25-26 (NKJV)25 “Know therefore and understand,That from the going forth of the commandTo restore and build JerusalemUntil Messiah the Prince,There shall be SEVEN WEEKS AND SIXTY-TWO WEEKS;The street shall be built again, and the wall,Even in troublesome times.26 “And after the sixty-two weeksMessiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;And the people of the prince whois to comeShall destroy the city and the sanctuary.The end of it shall be with a flood,And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

    Daniel 9:25-26 CJB25 Know, therefore, and DISCERN THAT SEVEN WEEKS [OF YEARS] WILL ELAPSE BETWEEN THE ISSUING OF THE DECREE TO RESTORE AND REBUILD YERUSHALAYIM UNTIL AN ANOINTED PRINCE COMES. IT WILL REMAIN BUILT FOR SIXTY- TWO WEEKS [OF YEARS], with open spaces and moats; but these will be troubled times. 26 Then, after the sixty- two weeks, Mashiach will be cut off and have nothing. The people of a prince yet to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary, but his end will come with a flood, and desolations are decreed until the war is over.

    Many today, in order to prove the time frame of the great tribulation will take that portion of the 25th verse I have made all caps and actually take the "seven weeks" and put them AFTER the sixty-two weeks AND project it into the far future. At no time in any prophetic message in the scriptures does God take what appears to be a continuous time frame and SPLIT it into separate times with one in the past and the other in the future.

    Now notice how this is written in the Jewish bible. When God mentions 7 weeks BEFORE the 62 weeks and begins explaining what happens AFTER the 62 weeks, it is UNDERSTOOD that the previous 7 weeks have already expired. God is VERY PRECISE when He speaks, leaving nothing to "guess work". Yet, this evil doctrine that has "transposed" the order of God's prophetic declaration of the 70 weeks of Daniel to place it far into the future is both absurd and perverted and all to prove a doctrine from hell that was designed to draw men away from the truth.

    In the Jewish bible, that 7 weeks is clearly explained that they were fulfilled BEFORE the 62 weeks began and it is in the 70th year of this prophecy that Messiah, the Prince, came to CONFIRM the Old Covenant with Abraham and ESTABLISH a NEW COVENANT sealed in His blood. This was that new covenant spoken of by Jeremiah the prophet (Jeremiah 31:31-35).

    Many today have taken this prophecy to say it is speaking of the "beast" or the "false prophet" and declare that he will make a covenant with Israel for 7 years and the temple will be rebuilt and sacrifices resumed and in the middle of this "week", after 3.5 years, he will stop the daily sacrifice and oblations.

    Folks, this is PURE FANTASY because this prophesy is not about the false prophet or the beast but about the Son of God, the Messiah. He came to confirm God's covenant with Abraham and establish the new covenant. In the middle of this week of years, He was "cut off" or "judged and put to death but not for any sin He has committed and the result of this, the curtain of partition that separated between the Holy Place and Holiest Place was torn in two to announce that God will no longer "live" in temples made with hands but will live in the temples of the human heart that has been made holy and sanctified through faith in the Son of God and His finished work on the Cross and His resurrection from the dead.

    JESUS put an end to the daily sacrifice because no blood of animals could remove those charges against us and remove guilt from the mind and heart of mankind.
    Colossians 2:14 (AMP)14 Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross.
    Colossians 2:14 (KJV)14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
    14 He wiped away the bill of charges against us. Because of the regulations, it stood as a testimony against us; but he removed it by nailing it to the execution- stake.(Colossians 2:14 CJB)
    Just as I had mentioned before, time frames in prophetic language translates days to years and are not to be understood as literal days. This was true in the Old Testament and remains true in the New Testament. So when you read of 42 months (30 days for each month) or 3.5 years, this is translated also into one year for each day or a total of 1,260 YEARS, not the literal 1,260 days as so many proclaim.

    What I find interesting is that in this false teaching, they will randomly interpret prophetic scripture both figuratively and literally according to how they can "make it work" to produce the outcome they have convinced themselves it will be. The ONLY way to make a LIE work is to NOT USE the same method of interpretation consistently. Beware of these false teachers. They are deluded. God says that because they choose to believe a lie, He will send them STRONG DELUSION so that they WILL believe a lie. If you choose to not accept the truth, then you open yourself to the only alternative there is...the LIE.
