    1 John 2:15-17 (AMP)15 DO NOT LOVE OR CHERISH THE WORLD OR THE THINGS THAT ARE IN THE WORLD. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.16 For all that is in the world — the lust of the flesh [CRAVING FOR SENSUAL GRATIFICATION] and the lust of the eyes [GREEDY LONGINGS OF THE MIND] and the pride of life [ASSURANCE IN ONE'S OWN RESOURCES OR IN THE STABILITY OF EARTHLY THINGS] — these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].17 And the world passes away and disappears, and with it the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes in his life abides (remains) forever.
    These verses, especially that portion that I've made all caps, IS the Word of the Lord to this generation. Many today SAY they do not love the world HOWEVER, in practice they SHOW they do.

    Do YOU seek your own pleasure? THEN YOU LOVE THE WORLD. Go to movies for entertainment purposes? THEN YOU LOVE THE WORLD. Do you SPEAK your own words and not what the Holy Spirit gives you to speak? THEN YOU LOVE THE WORLD. Do you shop for things that are not necessary for the advancement of the kingdom of God? THEN YOU LOVE THE WORLD.

    What many do not consider is that loving the THINGS of this world IS
    loving the world. Doesn't verse 15 say this very thing?

    When you walk in such a way that you don't want to "bother" God with some of your choices and trust in your own judgment, are you not showing your love for the world? Again, read verse 16 and notice those words I've made all caps. It speaks DIRECTLY to this very thing.

    Walking according to your own determination WITHOUT seeking the guidance from the Lord is actually a sin. Don't believe me? Perhaps you will believe God's word on this matter:

    Isaiah 30:1 (NKJV)1 “Woe to the rebellious children,” says the LORD,
    “Who take counsel, but not of Me,And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit,That they may add sin to sin;
    The Father SENT us the Holy Spirit in order to provide for us access to His wisdom and counsel at all times. All we have to do is INCLINE our hearts towards Him. He already knows what your question is and is ready to answer you but ONLY IF YOU TURN TO HIM. It takes but a moment, yet, many will not do this. They are so USED to not consulting with anyone except themselves, the thought never enters their minds to turn to the only True God. They have forgotten this other truth as well:
    Jeremiah 10:23 (AMP) 23 O Lord [pleads Jeremiah in the name of the people], I know that [the determination of] the way of a man is not in himself; it is not in man [even in a strong man or in a man at his best] to direct his [own] steps.
    Psalms 37:23-24 (AMP)5744356232_3b16de12a4_b23 The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step].24 Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord grasps his hand in support and upholds him.
    We are without excuse if we walk in our own counsel. God speaks loudly in His word and yet, we refuse to be trained to seek for and obey His voice. How can we escape the judgment and punishment of the Lord that is coming upon this nation if, in the final analysis, we are as an unbeliever, trusting in ourselves for every choice, every decision, no matter how small or how large? What we SAY does NOT match up with what we DO!

    THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE if we want to be found in FAITH when the trial comes

    AND when Jesus returns, OTHERWISE, we too will be LEFT BEHIND along with all the unbelievers and face the wrath of God. What God never desired for us who believe and are called by His name, WILL come upon us. Remember, MANY are called but FEW are chosen.

    Will you be among the chosen?

    1. Good Word! Good reminder Jerry, I am so trained to go my way if it's something simple, "why bother God, I got this one" Thank you Lord for your abundant love and mercy.

    2. I caught myself doing that more often than I liked.
