    A Call To Repentance...

A Call To Repentance To Those Walking In The Counsel Of Their Own Minds

Job 36:8-12 8 And if they are bound in fetters [of adversity] and held by cords of affliction, 9 Then He shows to them [the true character of] their deeds and their transgressions, that they have acted arrogantly [with presumption and self-sufficiency]. 10 He also opens their ears to instruction and discipline, and commands that they return from iniquity. 11 If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasantness and joy. 12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword [of God's destructive judgments], and they shall die in ignorance of true knowledge.
With great sorrow and trembling hands do I write this admonition to my brethren in Christ who continue to fulfill the purpose of this warning from the Spirit of the Lord. I hear Him say, "I have been patient with you and yet you continue to walk in the futility of your own minds and follow after your own counsel. The cup of My wrath is near to overflowing and once it has reached this point, there will be none who will be able to stand before Me in that day, says the Lord your God. Repent, turn away from your arrogance lest I come upon you in a day and an hour you are not prepared and I shall punish you for the wickedness of your stubbornness."

"Many have been walking in the presumptions and foolishness of their own counsel and through their own self-sufficiency, have cast off My counsel and trusted in their own counsels. No longer will I wait for you to decide when you shall turn away from your foolishness. I have set a day, an hour when I will come upon you and purge you with My hyssop and if you will not be clean but continue to walk in the futility of your own counsel, I shall gather you into a heap and cast you into the fire. For great is the Lord who judges you for you have hated My counsel and despised those whom I have sent to you to warn you from Me. Turn away from your arrogance today, says the Lord, so you can be healed but refuse and your judgment will come upon you suddenly, like a whirlwind that springs up in a clear day, you will not see when My judgment comes and you will perish in your sin and be cast away from Me forever!"
    Proverbs 1:22-33 AMP
22 How long, O simple ones [open to evil], will you love being simple? And the scoffers delight in scoffing and [self-confident] fools hate knowledge?
23 If you will turn (repent) and give heed to my reproof, behold, I [Wisdom] will pour out my spirit upon you, I will make my words known to you.
24 Because I have called and you have refused [to answer], have stretched out my hand and no man has heeded it,
25 And you treated as nothing all my counsel and would accept none of my reproof,
26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when the thing comes that shall cause you terror and panic—
27 When your panic comes as a storm and desolation and your calamity comes on as a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you.

28 Then will they call upon me [Wisdom] but I will not answer; they will seek me early and diligently but they will not find me.
29 Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord,
30 Would accept none of my counsel, and despised all my reproof,
31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way and be satiated with their own devices.
32 For the backsliding of the simple shall slay them, and the careless ease of [self-confident] fools shall destroy them.
33 But whoso hearkens to me [Wisdom] shall dwell securely and in confident trust and shall be quiet, without fear or dread of evil.

    The Dream

A number of years ago, I woke up in great distress from a dream about whirlwinds (tornadoes). The setting was on the grounds of a church facility with numerous places for recreation and children's playgrounds. The sky quickly grew very dark and someone shouted, "Tornado!". Everyone looked frantically for cover. I found a ditch with a concrete pipe, large enough for 4-5 people. Others found something similar. What I saw was startling. Not just one tornado but many tornadoes all around. They were dropping down quickly and disappeared just as quickly.

Eventually, it seemed the danger had subsided but as everyone began to emerge from their protective coverings, I had a very strong sense that the danger had not passed and pleaded with everyone to go back to their coverings. No one listened because they all judged they were safe. Just then and just as suddenly, multiple vortexes dropped down so quickly that it caught everyone unaware. One by one, everyone who did not heed my warning, were taken away by the tornadoes. It seemed as if each person who was in defiance to the warnings were being "targeted" by each vortex and were taken away.

When I woke up from this very vivid dream, all I could do is weep uncontrollably. I was so broken because my brethren in Christ were so obstinate and self-assured that they rejected God's warning to them because, in their own estimation, they were in no danger.

So it is today with this warning from the Spirit of the Lord. Many are walking in self-confidence, thinking they are far away from harm but do not know that God, is both loving and also holy. Look what happened when the two eldest sons of Aaron thought they did not need to wait for God to call them but PRESUMED upon the Lord.
Leviticus 10:1-3 1 Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them. 2 So fire went out from the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. 3 And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the LORD spoke, saying:
‘By those who come near Me
    I must be regarded as holy;
    And before all the people
    I must be glorified.’”
    So Aaron held his peace.
Many today are like these two sons of Aaron. God gave me a strong message regarding these two and also the rebellion of Korah. I highly recommend reading "Profane/Strange Fire"

His voice is very clear. Do not turn away and dismiss this urgent plea and warning. Open your heart before the Lord and if there is any way of walking presumptuously before Him, repent and let His Spirit cleanse you from all unrighteousness.
