    Being Salt

The purpose of being SALT in this world.

Have you eaten food without seasonings, without salt? There is no taste! It may be nutritious but who may want to eat if there is no flavor? Salt can be shocking to the tongue on its own but what it can accomplish to bring out the flavor of whatever it touches is simply amazing!

People do have a lot of difficulty accepting our message of the good news of Christ on its own. It is like salt to the tongue. It is repulsive. But apply the truths of God's message to their lives in mercy, kindness, friendship, giving without qualification, visiting the sick, and releasing the heavy burdens. This is similar to adding salt to foods. They enhance the flavor of God's unmatchable love through our actions. So let your actions speak more loudly than your words. Then after having received your seasoning in their lives, they may want to receive more of this salt to apply in their lives and the lives of their loved ones and co-workers and acquaintances.
