    The UNKNOWN Tithing Principle

    The UNKNOWN Tithing Principle No One Talks About

    Deuteronomy 14:22-26 22 “You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year. 23 “And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always. 24 “But if the journey is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, or if the place where the LORD your God chooses to put His name is too far from you, when the LORD your God has blessed you, 25 “then you shall exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place which the LORD your God chooses. 26 “And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household.
    "And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires..."

    tithing is sowing
    This is NOT a message you will ever hear from the pulpit. I've been a believer since '76 and have never heard anyone speak on this scripture. I cannot say that I know the reason why for I have never asked any pastor or Christian leader why they have not spoken of this. Those that I did ask never read these verses nor were they taught about these verses in bible school or seminary. It seems to me that this is the "unknown" or "forgotten" scripture and as such, not known and most certainly, not practiced.

    I believe there is a great significance to these instructions of the Lord as it shows what the heart of the Lord is to those who walk uprightly before Him and seek to always do as He commands. That verse that states, "He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" can rightly speak of these verses. Notice that He says that they can spend their TITHE money on "whatever your heart desires". Now, understand, this is not a license to act in a lawless or frivolous way. A person who truly delights in the way of the Lord, seeks only to do those things that will bring honor and glory to His Name. However, this truly does not "confine" one's joy and pleasure to fulfill one's desire to please Him as some may perceive.

    The psalmist provides for us a number of verses that shows his delight in the ways and the commandments of the Lord.
    Psalms 119:16 16 I will delight myself in Your statutes;
    I will not forget Your word.
    Psalms 119:47 47 And I will delight myself in Your commandments,
    Which I love.
    Psalms 119:77 77 Let Your tender mercies come to me, that I may live;
    For Your law is my delight.
    Psalms 119:174 174 I long for Your salvation, O LORD,
    And Your law is my delight.
    Also, there are significant benefits in delighting in the way of the Lord as seen here:
    Tithing-GivingPsalms 119:92-105 92 Unless Your law had been my delight,
    I would then have perished in my affliction.
    93 I will never forget Your precepts,
    For by them You have given me life.
    94 I am Yours, save me;
    For I have sought Your precepts.
    95 The wicked wait for me to destroy me,
    But I will consider Your testimonies.
    96 I have seen the consummation of all perfection,
    But Your commandment is exceedingly broad.
    97 Oh, how I love Your law!
    It is my meditation all the day.
    98 You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies;
    For they are ever with me.
    99 I have more understanding than all my teachers,
    For Your testimonies are my meditation.
    100 I understand more than the ancients,
    Because I keep Your precepts.
    101 I have restrained my feet from every evil way,
    That I may keep Your word.
    102 I have not departed from Your judgments,
    For You Yourself have taught me.
    103 How sweet are Your words to my taste,
    Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
    104 Through Your precepts I get understanding;
    Therefore I hate every false way.
    105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
    And a light to my path.
    If you should ever find yourself in a place where you are unable to bring your tithe into that place He has called you to be and has put His name, then you too will be able to experience for yourself, this wonderful side of God's tithing requirements. Also, if you do not know "how" to spend it on your own desires, just "ask Him". He will be more than happy to show you. After all, it is YOU that He takes delight in.
    Jeremiah 9:24 But let him who glories glory in this,
    That he understands and knows Me,
    That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.
    For in these I delight,” says the LORD.
